Proving age is no barrier to beauty, Deborah Hutton celebrates turning 50 by posing nude on the cover of The Australian Women’s Weekly.
Deborah agreed to pose for leading photographer David Gubert as part of The Weekly’s January body issue. In the magazine, she explains her decision saying for most of her life she was crippled by anxiety and insecurity despite a highly successful modelling career.
In a first?hand account, Deborah describes how she regrets wasting so much time worrying about her appearance and wishes she had stopped to be thankful for the gifts she was given. She explains why it is only now, at 50, that she feels at peace with her body.
“The reason I agreed to pose nude for The Weekly is to celebrate that I’m 50 and my body is the best it can be,” says Deborah. “It’s a celebration for me of not shying away from the fact I’m 50, a time most women fear, as society dictates the best years are behind them.
“I don’t have Botox or fillers and I don’t want to do anything drastic to my face. I hope to be one of those who ride it through. I think I’m in a good frame of mind to do that.
“So, on behalf of those leaving their 40s, I say embrace a positive future, celebrate the fact we are still here, that our bodies are healthy and still working, and make the most of every precious moment.”
In keeping with magazine’s policy, the photo has been lightly retouched. But the image of Deborah has not been made to look thinner, taller or younger.
