With thousands of people already making the switch to digital let this be a warning, analog TV signals in Townsville will be switched off from December 6 2011.
A way to tell if your prepared for the switch is see whether or not your TV has a built-in tuner, check to see if you can receive ABC2 or SBS Two. If you can access these channels you’ve already made the switch, otherwise it is time to head to your local electronics retailer and upgrade your set-top box or purchase a new TV.
Analog free-to-air TV signals have been progressively switched off across Australia since 2010 with Mildura making the switch back in June 2010.
Townsville will be among six other locations around Australia that’s analog TV signal will be switched off for including; Wide Bay, Darling Downs, Far North Queensland, Central QLD, Capricornia and the Whitsundays.
