Jessica Mauboy has performed to an audience of around 2000 at Charters Towers’ World Theatre in her first ever performance to the rural community.
Tickets were sold out for Mauboy’s concert that featured around five opening acts ranging from break dancers, soloists to ballroom dancers.
JBC (Jarred, Bailey, Christian) Boys one of the opening acts for Mauboy said this was one of their first opportunities to perform to such a big crowd.
JBC dancer Christian said, “We felt excited, It’s our hobby to dance.”
“We’ve been dancing ever since we were little, where we all went to discos and just danced,” said Bailey part of the dance group JBC.
“We practiced for like a week or so, pretty long,” added Jarred.
The concert was organised by the Alcohol and Drug Foundation Queensland (ADFQ) that secured Jessica Mauboy as the headline act for the concert.
ADFQ Clinical worker Des’ree Shepherd said it was great to have so many people benefit from seeing such a famous person perform in western Queensland.
Highlights of the night included Daniel Knuth who gave the singing star Jessica Mauboy a flower during her hit song, “What Happened to Us.” Watch the exclusive video on My Suburban News.
